Assignment 1:



Meet Harriet Tubman. Click on the following link and discover the hero of the biography, Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad.



Assignment 2:
Read from Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad. You will find the story on page 220 in your textbooks. Divide into groups of four. Read the biography aloud taking turns reading aloud in your groups.

Assignment 3:
After reading the biography in groups of four, write a paragraph in which you discuss reasons that Harriet Tubman was named Moses in the story.

Assignment 4:
Listen to the recording of Go Down Moses. After listening to the audio, revise your paragraph in which you think that Tubman was named Moses. Does the recording help you understand the reason for her name as Moses? Explain why in writing your paragraph.
